A visit to Banteay Srey with Angkor Wat Photography!
These images are taken on a photography tour to Banteay Srey: the “Fortress of the Women”. Famous for it´s pink sandstone, it has some of the finest and best-preserved carvings in all Angkor.
It´s a bit outside of the central temple area, but it´s well worth the drive. The route goes through scenic villages and a picturesque landscape of rice fields. We have been there very often, so we know the perfect day time to capture this place: the late afternoon.
At the right daytime and especially after a rain shower the colors of the stone shine like they were freshly painted – it´s a purely natural effect though!
